Is religion to blame for making people suspicious of vaccines?

Jim Carey has been using his celebrity status to try to make the American public stop vaccinating their children against measles. He’s teamed up with a porn star who has a child with autism. So here we have a situation where Americans are taking serious advice from a professional clown and an emotionally unstable porn star whilst distrusting doctors. Let’s not forget that America is home to creationist insanity, the word’s nuttiest religions and Fox News. What we see here are examples of the damage caused to society by unregulated organized religion, right?
