Question about the 1989 Honey I Shrunk the Kids?

Ok so Russell's dad is EXACTLY like Jim Carey. Does anyone think so??? He sounds just like him and has the same funny expressions. He even looks a little similar.... Does anyone know if he is like Jim Cary's cousin? Brother? Idk, its weird.
